Precalculus
Course Description
Polynomial and rational functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, trigonometry and trigonometric functions. Complex numbers, fundamental theorem of algebra, mathematical induction, binomial theorem, series, and sequences. Prior to Fall 2025, this course was offered as Math 32.

Prerequisites
Three years of high school mathematics, plus satisfactory score on one of the following: CEEB MAT test, math SAT, or UC/CSU diagnostic examination.

Students will receive no credit for XMATH 32 after completing MATH 3, MATH 16A, MATH N16A, MATH 16B, MATH N16B, MATH 51, MATH N1A, MATH 52, MATH N1B, or MATH N32.

A deficient grade in XMATH 32 may be removed by taking MATH N32, MATH 3, MATH 3, or MATH N32.
